Hello gorgeous! IM Amber.
I’m a marketer by trade and a maker at heart, with more hobbies than I can count on my fingers. My mom always told me I could do anything I put my mind to, and I took that seriously.
This is where my personal and professional lives meet, so you can get to know the whole me. On the professional side, you’ll find my resume, marketing advice, and case studies from 12+ years leading strategy for growing brands. On the personal side, you’ll find my recipes, my latest oil painting, cross stitch projects, design work, and stories from wherever I last traveled.
It’s everything that makes me who I am, all in one place. Whether you’re a friend, a recruiter, or someone who stumbled onto this site by accident, I’m glad you’re here. Hope you enjoy it!

My Professional Marketing Story
(The chaotic tale of how a military brat studied biochemistry and ended up being a marketer)
Like a lot of young women, I started out wanting to be a marine biologist and study manatees. It’s still a goal of mine to go scuba dive with them! By middle school I had switched to journalism, until a summer in the Public Affairs office on our Air Force base showed me it wasn’t for me.
In high school, medicine caught my attention. I earned my CNA certification and interned at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, which led me to the pre-med track at Rice University. Thanks to 14 AP classes, I skipped intro chemistry my freshman year and met my nemesis early: organic chemistry. After years of straight A’s and the second-highest GPA at my high school, I failed it and had to retake it. Growing up as an Air Force kid, moving every six months to three years, had taught me that when your circumstances change, you adjust. So I did. I conquered it the second time around, became a volunteer EMT, and minored in biochemistry.
Meanwhile, I kept getting pulled toward my psychology classes and eventually realized that learning why people act the way they do was far more interesting to me than medicine. After one course with Dr. Kortum, I knew I wanted to study user experience with him, and he took me under his wing. Together we studied how people interact with voting systems, websites and more during my time at Rice University.
As senior year approached, I needed an internship. I had spent years teaching myself HTML and CSS through Myspace and my fashion blog, so I applied for a WordPress developer internship at Leap Clixx (now Agile & Co) and they took me on. Midway through my senior year, they offered me a full-time role as Inbound Marketing Strategist. I said yes and moved from Houston to St. Louis right after graduation.
I started on a team of three and went on to become COO, leading a team of 15. It’s been a wild ride, but every stop shaped how I work, from staying calm in an ambulance to bouncing back from a failed class and landing on the honor roll by senior year.
These days, I bring all of it to the table: a psychology nerd’s curiosity about why people click, a web builder’s comfort in the backend of a website, and an EMT’s calm when everything is on fire (figuratively, mostly). Now I get to put that mix to work for businesses that want a smart strategy and someone who won’t panic!

My Personal Story
(The not-so-quiet life of a military brat who finally stayed put and filled it with board games, soccer chants, and way too many craft supplies)
As a military brat, my world was always shifting. Sometimes in the middle of a school year, my dad would get orders and off we’d go, whether that meant the small town of Enid, Oklahoma, the huge international military community at Ramstein, Germany, or a big city like Washington, DC. It meant I made friends across the globe and got to see the world through a lot of different eyes. I even came home from two years in England with a British accent!
It also opened doors I wouldn’t have had otherwise, from space camp to college through the GI Bill. My dad’s career and our military life are at the core of who I am, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
After college, I moved to St. Louis, and twelve years later it’s the longest I’ve ever lived anywhere. My roots are still growing, and they’re getting deep.
These days, I host a monthly board game night for friends and family. I see MUNY shows and Broadway tours at the Fabulous Fox with my mom and my sister. I’m a St. Louis CITY SC season ticket holder, and nothing beats losing my voice as the team scores five goals in a half (thank you, Holse & Navarro!). I play Pokémon with my nephews every week. And when my calendar is empty, you’ll find me playing video games with friends or buried in an arts and crafts project.
While I don’t have the British accent or the military ID anymore, I’ve kept what mattered: I can make friends anywhere, I adapt fast, and I know how to make a place feel like home.
